This article outlines how to access free digital resources for learners and teachers during COVID-19 school closures.
This article is for ANYONE USING SNAPPLIFY. 👦👧👨👩
Making it easier for everyone to access ebooks has always been our thing. 😀 With widespread school closures, we want to make sure that teachers, students and parents have everything they need to keep up with the curriculum from home. 🏠
That’s why we’ve partnered with key educational publishers to provide you with easy, FREE access to top-quality educational ebooks, e-textbooks, teacher guides and supplementary resources until 31 December 2020. 📚 🎉
Snapplify’s programme to make these digital educational resources available to students, parents, and teachers who are teaching and learning remotely is called Free Access.
With Snapplify’s Free Access programme, you get:
- Instant access to curriculum-aligned ebooks that you would usually have to pay for, included free with your Snapplify account. There is no limit to how many books you can select, so feel free to check out as many titles as you need. 📗📘📙
- The option to read your ebooks on any device you have access to (the Snapplify Reader app works on mobile, tablet, and desktop devices across a range of operating systems). 💻📱🖥
- The ability to access your ebooks offline, wherever you are. 🏡 💁
Because we understand that the transition to digital education can be difficult at first, we also provide free online technical support for parents and students through Snapplify’s live chat (available seven days a week, from 6 am to 10 pm in South Africa, and 7 am to 11 pm in Kenya). You can also peruse the Snapplify Knowledge Base to find more helpful, step-by-step articles. 👍🤓
There are just three easy steps to get access to free educational resources:
Step 1: Log in with your Snapplify account
Go to www.snapplify.com/freeaccess, select your country, and sign in with your Snapplify account towards the top right hand corner of your screen. If you don’t have a Snapplify account, you can follow the onscreen prompts to register one after you’ve selected ‘SIGN IN’.
Step 2: Find your ebooks
You can search for various titles using the search bar at the top of the page. To refine your search, or to find more search options, click 'Advanced'. Once you've typed in your search details, click the green search icon to commence your search.
Once you’ve found the title you’d like to check out of the library, select the green ‘Add to my library’ button.
Step 3: Download the Snapplify Reader application
Once you’ve checked out an ebook, the title will be available to download and read when you log in to the Snapplify Reader app. The Free Access period lasts until 31 December 2020.
To get reading, go to getsnapplify.com in the browser of the device you want to read on. Snappboy will identify your device type and recommend the latest app version for you.💻📱
Log in to the app using the same account details you used to sign in to www.snapplify.com. 📗💚 Once you've logged into the Snapplify Reader app onto your device, you’ll find the ebook(s) you’ve already checked out from the library.
💡 An awesome feature of the Snapplify Reader app is that you can download your resources to be able to access them offline, without having to be connected to the internet all the time.
👉 You can also use the Reader's academic features to annotate your ebooks to help with assignments and studying. ✅💁
