Linking to Engage Resources from ebooks and e-textbooks

Teacher-created or teacher-compiled resources shared with students via Groups in Engage can be linked to from PDFs and ePUBs in the Snapplify Reader app. For example, a Chemistry test uploaded to Engage can be added as a link in a Chemistry e-textbook, allowing students to navigate easily between the resource (test) and the prescribed material (e-textbook) within the Reader app.

How to add a link to a resource in the Reader app

iOS and Android

  1. Open your ebook/ e-textbook in the Snapplify Reader.
  2. Tap and hold a particular word, sentence or paragraph, and move your finger over the text that you wish to highlight.
  3. Select ‘Highlight’.
  4. Once highlighted, tap on the highlighted text and hit the paperclip icon.
  5. From the list that pops up showing all resources connected to your account, select the resource you wish to link to the text.

Windows and macOS

  1. Open your ebook/ e-textbook in the Snapplify Reader.
  2. Use your mouse to click and drag over the text that you wish to highlight and click on the ‘T’ icon to add the highlight.
  3. Once highlighted, click on the highlighted text and select ‘Resource’.
  4. From the list that pops up showing all resources connected to your account, select the resource you wish to link to the text.
