Resetting your Snappbox IP after a power cut

Please also ensure that if the Snappbox turns off (due to load shedding for example), that you turn it on again (when powered on, there will be a blue light on the power button).

Each time a Snappbox reconnects to the internet, it will be assigned a new IP address. This might be problematic as students may have to update and reconnect to it each time this happens. You can ask your network administrator to assign a static IP address to the Snappbox so that when the internet goes down (or if there’s a power failure), it does not automatically assign a new IP address. This makes students logging in afterwards much easier.
