To prevent the illegal distribution of copyrighted content, most publishers prohibit the printing of ebooks and e-textbooks.

To give our publishing partners peace of mind, SnappSafe DRM is applied to all of the paid content available through Snapplify. This means that content can only be read on the Snapplify Reader app, and cannot be downloaded locally onto any device for sharing with others or printing.

Similarly, International-standard Digital Rights Management (DRM) software protects publisher-owned content so that it cannot be copied or used in a way that the publisher/copyright owner objects to.

What you can do instead

Although printing or copying content may not be allowed, there are other ways to interact with your eBook:

  • Bookmark important pages to easily return to them later, see Using Bookmarks

  • Use the in-app highlighting and note-taking features to capture key information, see Making Highlights and Notes

  • Use the search function within the eBook to quickly find topics or sections, see Using full-text search

Some publishers do give printing permission in specific circumstances. Find out more about how to print certain books from the Snapplify Reader app.
