When you purchase ebooks from Snapplify, you’re actually licensing the content, not owning it outright. These licenses are single-user only, meaning:

  • ✅ Your books are tied to your account
  • ❌ They can’t be transferred or shared with other users or accounts

This setup is not unique to Snapplify—it’s standard practice in digital publishing and governed by strict license agreements with publishers.

The Role of DRM (Digital Rights Management)

Snapplify uses DRM software to protect the intellectual property of publishers and authors. DRM ensures that:

  • Books are accessed only by the user who purchased them
  • Sharing or copying content is restricted to prevent piracy

Transferring your ebook to another user would be a violation of the licence terms and classified as piracy.


Books may not be transferred from one student to another, when, for example, the second student wishes to ‘reuse’ that title the following year.


When Can Transfers Be Considered?

While transfers are generally not allowed, there are a few special situations where an exception may apply:
