Analytics in Snapplify Engage provide schools with valuable insights into how teachers and learners are using the Snapplify Reader app. By tracking activity, devices, and engagement, administrators can make informed decisions to improve digital learning.

Overview

The Analytics dashboard provides data on:

  • How many teachers, learners, and classrooms are on the platform

  • How often users are active

  • What books are being read and for how long

  • Which devices and operating systems are most popular

  • When users last accessed the app

This guide explains how to access analytics, interpret the data, and troubleshoot common issues.

Understanding the Dashboard

At the top of the page, you’ll see summary cards (dashlets) showing:

  • Number of teachers

  • Number of learners

  • Number of classrooms

  • Active users over a selected time

  • Last seen activityAnalytics summary showing number of teachers, learners, classrooms, active users, and last activity date in Engage.

Below this, the dashboard is divided into two main sections:Engage Analytics dashboard with Reading metrics on the left and Platform usage metrics on the right, including graphs and charts.

1. Reading

This section shows what users are reading and how they interact with books.

  • Activity: Total number of unique users active per day.
  • Engagement Hours: Active unique users per hour.
  • Activity per book: Most popular content based on total activities.

2. Platform

This section shows how users access the Reader.

  • Operating System: Most popular OS based on devices.
  • Device Usage: Number of devices per user.
  • Activities: Hourly activities for devices.
  • Application Version: Device totals using previous Reader versions.
  • Activities by Type and OS: Breakdown of activities for the last 30 days.

Filtering Data

You can view analytics for a specific date range:

  • 30 days

  • 60 days

  • 90 days

  • 120 days

  • Custom rangeDate range filter buttons in Engage Analytics: 30 days, 60 days, 90 days, 120 days, Custom, and refresh.

Once you select a range, the graphs will automatically update to reflect the period you’ve chosen.

Why These Metrics Matter

Understanding analytics helps schools:

  • Measure engagement – e.g., if active users drop, consider running a reading challenge or sharing book recommendations.

  • Support learners and teachers – identify who hasn’t been active and offer help.

  • Plan device and platform support – ensure students have compatible devices and up-to-date apps.

  • Evaluate content needs – track which books are most used to guide future purchases.

Troubleshooting

Common issues with Analytics include:

  • Delayed updates
Data refreshes every 24 hours. For example, activity on Monday will only show from Tuesday.

  • Missing data
Ensure users are signed in with the correct Engage accounts.

  • Dashboard not loading
Clear your browser cache or log out and back in.
