Once Literacy Pro opens after signing in from the Engage platform you will be taken through a short guide of the main functions a teacher will be using.

Step 1: Sign in to Literacy Pro

  • Log into Engage and following steps in the following article. A welcome screen for Scholastic Literacy Pro featuring a green cartoon character with large yellow eyes, wearing a pink shirt, blue pants, and red boots, sitting on a stack of colorful books. The text reads: "Hello, Samantha! Welcome to Scholastic Literacy Pro. There are a few things you need to know to get started." Below the message is a blue button labeled "Let's Go." The Scholastic Literacy Pro logo appears at the top of the screen.

Step 2: Welcome steps

A Scholastic Literacy Pro welcome screen featuring the text "Take a Breath of Fresh Air with Scholastic Literacy Pro!" and a description about exploring content and assigning books. At the bottom, a carousel of children's book covers is displayed, including titles such as "Shifty McGifty and Slippery Sam," "Thumbs Up Brown Bear," "Horrid Henry's Space," "The Boy at the Back of the Class," and "Fast Food." On the left and right edges are cartoon characters: a monkey-like character in athletic wear reading a book, and cloud-shaped arrows for navigation.

Reports available on learners and classes:

"Scholastic Literacy Pro screen titled 'Reporting at Your Fingertips.' Text reads: 'Easily monitor results and reading progress of your students. Drill-down to view detailed reports and key insights. Keeping track of your students’ learning mastery has never been easier!' Below is a sample dashboard with three panels showing data: one with a 68% activity pass rate, another showing students read an average of 855 words per week, and a third with student performance categories. A bar graph displays reading activity over several dates, split between 'Teacher-assigned' and 'Student-initiated' tasks. On the left, a purple cartoon bear wearing a red beret and paint-splattered apron holds a book. Navigation arrows on both sides appear inside white cloud shapes."

Settings are available that can be set to suit your school or class best:

"Scholastic Literacy Pro screen titled 'Adjust Settings.' Text explains that settings and awards can be customized at the school, class, or student level. Three overlapping setting panels are displayed: the first shows book quiz options like displaying incorrect answers, quiz attempt limits, and search level permissions; the second panel outlines awards based on points earned, including levels: Gold (500 points), Silver (250), Bronze (100), Red (50), and Blue (25); the third panel includes additional settings like minimum days for quiz completion and reading list restrictions. On the left, a green cartoon frog wearing a crown and cape sits on stacked books. Navigation arrows are displayed in white cloud icons on both sides."

Completed Welcome steps:

"Celebration screen from Scholastic Literacy Pro. Multicolored confetti is falling across the screen. At the top, the Scholastic Literacy Pro logo is displayed. In the center, orange text reads: 'Congratulations, Samantha! You are now all set!' with a blue button below that says 'Let's Go.' On the left side, a smiling cartoon shark wearing a graduation robe and scarf is jumping in the air, balancing a green book on its head. A soft blue cloud is at the bottom right corner."

Step 3: Dashboard

Once all classes have been successfully launched, as a teacher you will be able to move between classes in Literacy Pro. See data such as 'Quiz Pass Rate', Weekly Activity' and 'Recently Assigned Books'.

"Scholastic Literacy Pro dashboard screen. The top section displays three main data panels. The first panel shows 'Quiz Pass Rate' and 'Average Words Read per Week,' but no data is available, marked with dashes. It features colorful word bubbles such as 'Simple,' 'Success,' and 'Ideas' above a stack of books. The second panel shows student reading levels: 0 students at Level 1, 2, and 3; and 2 students (100% of class) at Level 4. The top right corner includes icons for alerts and class selection labeled '10E2'. Below, the 'Class Weekly Activity' section is empty, with a message: 'Once your students start reading, you can easily view and compare the weekly activity of your class over time here.' An illustrated calendar icon is shown in the center."

"Scholastic Literacy Pro section titled 'Recently Assigned Books.' In the center, there is an illustration of stacked books with a red ribbon bookmark, topped by a pair of glasses. Below, the message reads: 'All books you assign to your students will show up here.' A blue button labeled 'Explore Library' is displayed beneath the text."
